After a lot of hard work from Roo (Reigate Division Commissioner) and the team of Guiders that met to prepare for this and those that helped on the day, including the wonderful trefoil guild ladies the Rainbows thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it! Poor old Frank fetched trestle tables from all over the building and took them back afterwards! for us all to use. Roo put up a large colourful Rainbow banner and Coralie put up a palm tree and Rainbow arch . We had about 90 Rainbows all dressed in grass skirts and flower garlands eager to participate! Roo split the Rainbows up into different fruit groups and we had a fruity story about Roo going shopping for the Hawaiian party to start the Hawaiian Party off. Each group had to jump up when they heard their fruit in the story and shout their fruit out! Then we were told what we could make and do around the room There was face painting with help from 2 Guides, cocktail glass decorating, swizzle stick making, bag decorating, flowers for their hair, nail varnishing, limbo dancing and hoola hoops to wiggle on the hips! There was a bar run by Frank of lemon, blackcurrant, and orange, pineapple and mango drinks for all those Rainbows and helpers who remembered to say please! We finished the party off with a large circle of Rainbows around the hall, each unit singing a song they liked. Then all the Rainbows went home with the things they had made in their little decorated bags leaving lots of Guiders and helpers to clear up the mess! Photos Here |
